I'm Addicted, I Can't Have Enough!

I'm Addicted, I Can't Have Enough!

"I am addicted, I can't have enough,
And so enough I don't seem to have,
And this bondage away, from me I want!
But the pleasures and the thrills it brings,
So addicting, my flesh cannot eschew!"

Directly and unconsciously the moan is heard,
When visible, the wretchedness is seen,
In the body, soul, and spirit,
By the kindred and caucus of them,
In the bondage of cocaine and heroin!

In the gutters and under the bridges, the metropolis,
To the blinding light of day awaking,
With bruises and broken lips, the battery of the liquor,
Yet, the more, enough seem he not to have,
To alcohol he is addicted, he can't have enough!

Once again the hunger grips the soul,
For the pleasure, illicit sex derives,
Though yesterday positive was the result,
Visible in the blood and serum were gonorrhoea, syphilis, and HIV!
With these she is never moved,
To hookups she is addicted, she can't have enough!

'So bad yesterday the outing was,
So huge the substance on the bet was put,
The game the tide could've turned'
So glaring, the losses day to day in gambling amassed,
To gambling he is addicted, he can't help the urge!

Delivered convincingly the verdict was,
'Surely, this your end will be',
The physician so professional this has said,
The end, the endless alcohol and drug abuse will bring!
Though glaring, impossible it seems to stop!

Through the nights and days, the liver is gone,
Drowning in the sea, that snuffs the breath of life,
So helpless to the stronghold of cocaine, heroin, and illicit sex!
"I'm addicted I can't have enough",
Voiced out the lots in addiction be found,

Though so lost in addiction you are!
Helpless and hopeless to the bondage of cocaine, marijuana, and cocaine,
And so weak and powerless, it seems you are,
But not alone and weak you are,
With Christ Jesus, the power and ruler overall,

Though the urge, so overpowering and overwhelming it seems,
In alcoholism with unbridled illicit sex,
To gamble with the substance of wealth,
Free and saved from the bondage you'll be,
When into your life situation, Jesus Christ you call,

So great the addiction may be,
Afflicting the young and the old,
Enslaving the mind of man and woman!
But when ready to be saved we are,
In Christ Jesus salvation assured belong!
(Proverbs 23: 26-35)
